How comforting. The doctors working at Guantanamo aren't ethically compromised. They don't have to assist the prisoners torment. They're not needed. The guidelines don't control abuse, they parse the details. That dangling last sentence suggesting reform is just plain dishonest. In fact, Winkenwerder told Mayer that "a number of medical and scientific personnel working at Guantanamo" were not there to treat patients at all, but to "assist the interrogators."
